Friday the 13th

This is actually the first game I picked up CIB (with the box and manual), before I even decided to go all in on CIB for my collection. I bought it with the box and everything cuz I love Friday the 13th (the movies), and had recently gotten my wife into them. I figured hey, a cool shelf piece we can both appreciate, why not?

I've played it for fun a few times but never really set out to actually beat it. I could just never seem to make it all work. Tonight though, somehow, first try I got it beat. By the skin of my teeth, mind you - I lost some key camp counselors along with their weapons, but I still had Mark left with the torch, but only 1 health left. I made a smart move for once and handed the torch off to someone else to finish Jason off which was definitely the right call. On Day 3 Jason goes balls to the wall, but he also uses a very predictable pattern. I was able to wear him down and got a bit lucky and ran into him on the road for the finishing blow, at which point I just spammed him and tanked his damage. Really satisfying.

Super stoked to have this one beaten, it's a game I played as a kid and I'm sure young me would be impressed. Old man's still got it!

Completed = some major goal, all retroachievements.org if those exist, all trophies if ps3 or higher, etc, basically "do everything of note". I will generally note down on the game page what the requirement is for completion.

For Friday the 13th I earned all of the Retroachievements. It was pretty fun, and I have a lot of the game memorized now, I could beat it easily in under a half hour if the mood strikes. Not speedrun times but again, enough to impress casual gamer pals.
