Game:
Final Fantasy VII
Published on Fri Nov 05 2021
It's been a long time since I last sat down to actually play through Final Fantasy VII. I've actually only played through the whole thing once in my life, all the other times I've stopped somewhere around the middle, or right at the end but didn't bother to finish it out for one reason or another.
This time around I'm hoping to get through again, though progress has been slow. I've been focusing lately on improving work/life balance and part of that is a job reset - I've left my current job and have another lined up which will change drastically my work dynamic, so we'll see how that goes.
I've just made it to the Shinra building, shortly after they (spoiler alert) dropped the plate on the slums. This is actually the point at which I'm most familiar with the game, as the first time I bought FF7 it was second hand, and the first disc had a scratch which made the game stop working right at the cutscene I'm about to watch (at the entrance to the building). So as a kid I'd just kinda level up in the area, and try and try again to get through the cutscene to no avail. Today me wishes he could go back and give some tips for how to repair a disc, but alas.
I'll avoid spamming up the ol' game log with FF7 posts about the couple steps I've taken each week. For now though, progress is being made and that's enough for me.
